What classes do you teach at Melt?

Vinyasa and Slow Flow.

Why do you love teaching at Melt?

The heat and humidity is a big attraction for me - and frankly, Melt is the hottest studio in the city! The heat, combined with the dark room and sound system allows for a truly immersive experience that tunes everything else out. Ambiance aside, I love that Melt is constantly evolving as a studio and a community by adding new instructors and class offerings to the schedule, hosting workshops and trainings, as well as renovating/improving/adding onto the physical space itself. Because of all this, things are never stagnant at Melt. Even the members themselves have come to embody an adaptive and open-mindedness towards their fitness, embracing new and different challenges.

How would you describe your class at Melt?

Whether you are taking my Melt Vinyasa or Melt Slow Flow, you can expect an invigorating, full-body workout. With my roots being in Power Yoga, I want everyone to leave my class feeling like they were challenged in one way or another.

My Melt Vinyasa is very fluid, with long, flowy, evolving sequences and challenging transitions. Expect to jump, hop, kick, and swivel around! Once the train leaves the station, it essentially keeps chugging.

As the name implies, my Melt Slow Flow definitely moves at a slower tempo, but I would not call it an easy class by any means. Some members say that this class is actually more challenging for them than Vinyasa! There's an emphasis on core work, standing balance postures, as well as arm balances.

How would you describe your vibe?

Intense, Whimsical, Dance-like, Limber, Athletic, and musically driven.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about diet and nutrition. I feel that everyone has to find which particular diet works for them and their body, but I have been Vegan since 2013 and I love it. When not teaching, you can find me leisurely perusing the produce section at various grocery stores. I prepare most of my meals at home and I genuinely enjoy eating whole, unprocessed foods as much as possible!

What is one thing no one knows about you?

I am left-handed!

What certifications do you have?

E-RYT® 200 & YACEP® through Yoga Alliance (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher and Continuing Education Provider). CPR/AED/FIRST AID certification through Red Cross.
