Meet Nicole D

What classes do you teach at Melt?

Vinyasa.

Why do you love teaching at Melt?

There is always something to learn in each class, whether it’s from the instructor or a student. It’s also inspiring to watch everyone on their own unique journey but collectively adding to the energy of the room! There is literally nowhere else that you’ll see people covered in sweat, pushing their limits but also cracking a SMILE! Such positive vibes!

How would you describe your class at Melt?

It will always be different. My favorite thing is to find new poses and new modifications to add a unique spin to traditional Vinyasa yoga. We’ll always start by slowing down, grounding in the breath and then ramping up to vigorous, strength-building, creative flows and finishing with a quick but effective stretch and savasana.

How would you describe your vibe?

Nurturing, positive, high-energy. I’m a true empath- very attuned to the energy of a room.

What are you passionate about?

Being strong and healthy goes so far beyond physical appearance! I started doing yoga in college as an outlet for anxiety/depression and have journeyed through various life phases since then that have shown me a very clear correlation between my physical activity and mental health. Over time I’ve learned to do what makes me feel good in the long-term vs. short-term indulgences.

As I said above, I’m an empath, so I love to share my personal journey and connect with people who are still finding their way. After having my daughter in 2018 I found motivation to reprioritize my health following struggles with PCOS and weight. I lost about 80 pounds, rediscovered my addiction to daily sweat sessions and settled into a more active lifestyle that is so much more fun for the whole family. For me, all of this anchors back to: being active = improved mental health and happiness!

What is one thing no one knows about you?

I work in Pharma Advertising! I always wanted to work in healthcare but was way too empathetic and emotional during clinicals in college (do you see a theme? Haha!). I love getting to work in healthcare without the anxiety of being directly responsible for someone’s life.
