What classes do you teach at Melt?

Vinyasa and Buti Yoga.

Why do you love teaching at Melt?

I love the atmosphere of a dark room, loud music, and steamy heat that makes each class intense and exciting, but also grounding. 

How would you describe your class at Melt?

My Vinyasa class is made up of creative yoga sequences that challenge the mind and body, with pops of cardio and dynamic movement woven throughout the class. We start and end each class with a moment to become aware of the breath and practice mindful focus.   

My Buti Yoga class is a full body experience made up of fun, powerful, primal movements synchronized to a diverse playlist of music. In addition to traditional yoga poses, I incorporate shaking, jumping, drumming and spirals meant to get energy flowing throughout the body. This class helps us get out of our head by exploring new movement in a judgement free space.

What are you passionate about?

I love how yoga brings us into alignment physically, mentally, and emotionally. I believe fitness is not just about how strong and resilient our body is, but how strong and resilient our mind is as well.  I have personally experienced the transformational power of yoga and movement and am passionate about helping others find the same.

What is one thing no one knows about you?

I was born in Keflavik, Iceland and had dual citizenship until the age of 18 years old!

What certifications do you have?

I have my 500-Hour Yoga Certification, as well as being Buti Yoga certified. I have also gone through a meditation and pranayama teacher training, which are additional components I like to weave into my classes.
